Some time ago someone told me that they heard of a case where each side
had an accident reconstructionist prepared to testify. The judge asked the
attorneys if each reconstructionist came to the same conclusion. The
obvious answer was "no". The judge then told each reconstructionist to
get together and come back with a single conclusion.
Has anyone ever heard of this?
This is an interesting way of allowing the reconstructionists to base their
reconstruction solely on physical evidence and let the attorneys offer their
opinions based upon the available facts on the case.
I know that there are many pros and cons to this system, but it is an
interesting solution to teh use of experts.
