Gene, your point is well taken and you are gifted with words. And you are correct with your absolute and relative terminology. I think this discussion has gone to a very clinical debate on dynamics. The intent of my post to Jim Potts was to express my opinion that had the body acheived the vertical acent and apogee necessary to clear the car, one would not expect the body to bounce, then slide 52 feet in the same direction as a mechanically propelled car. My argument was that in order for the body to slide 52 feet in the same direction as the car being mechanically driven the body had to achieve common velocity, or dang close to it, most likely by being hung up on the windshield, then rolling off, to roll the 52 feet in the same direction, therefore, using the established blood trail, Jim could use conventional methods to get a good ballpark MINIMUM speed of the car he could hang his hat on. And my post concerning common velocity and body direction is supported by the writings
of Fricke, Severy, and a few others. So guys, that is my opinion, and this is the last time I will post in this thread.
By the way Ed, I guess I owe you an apology, I didn't dial into your sense of humor. Please know that I like debating with you, you keep me thinking!
