you sound like my twin - thanks for asking the questions that have been on my mind lately too, and thanks to everyone else for some answers too.... I do agree that, with 14 years on, it would be foolish to walk away without a very solid foothold for that next step - I plan on taking advantage of everything my current career can offer me towards the next - a wealth of training and experience and I get paid for it too, see no reason in abandoning security and a wealth of experience, and yes, I do have a family that depends on me....good luck whatever you do
