noooo...I think the only understandings you should take away from my reply is that this is not the forum for you to seek a complete and thorough analysis of a collision -

the severity of the injuries and how they were sustained has much to do with how he interacted with the truck and roadway at impact and after -

certainly 12 miles per hour doesn't seem like very fast at all - until you think about standing in front of a 4000 pound truck that's traveling "only" that fast....

basic speed from skid equations are just a part of the many things examined and considered in a collision - they by no means provide all the answers

as I said, you need to contact a qualified reconstructionist who can review the entire report and examine the scene and give you some answers - whether or not they're the exact ones you're looking for
