Ditto on the nails. We use the PK brand. A lumber crayon, vigorously applied, will usually leave a mark that will be there the next day. Here in Western Washington the next day is likely to be just as rainy as the day before so we reach for the hammer. I have seen spray paint, designed for marking wet wood, marketed to logging outfits. I haven't had an opportunity to test it on pavement, however.
