Bill you raise some interesting points with respect to brake pedal input and inconsistency in decelaration rate.
In light of this in future tests perhaps it would be better to use a variety of drivers in order to take into consideration the factor of inconsistent brake application. the results would probably be more true to life.
I recently participated in an ABS braking exercise in which the ABS Fuse was disconnected. What we found was that the rear wheels still neglected to lock up. The vehicle utilyzed was a late model Mercedes.
The Mercedes engineer who disconnected the fuse indicated that most of the cars manufactured today have this feature built into their braking systems.
I will have to try disconnecting the fuse on an American car to see if I can get all wheels to lock up. Your comments and sugesstions are much appreciated. Thank You.
