Bob: I'm not sure of a shareware name for sunrise-sunset but I'd bet they abound
in some of the astronomy web sites. Duffets book is commonly available as well.
Be advised that the US Naval Observatory will provide the calculation for free
on their web site (http://www.usno.navy.mil/home.html)... you simply type in
the appropriate date and longitude/latitude and their homepage does the rest. They
also provide a government certified document for ~$10 (ten dollors) which the
courts supposedly readily accept (I'm not convinced that anything is set in
stone law or whatever when in comes to the courts.) Lastly MacInnis Engineering
in Canada will provide a sunup/sundown analysis which also includes an estimate
of available scene lighting from the moon or residual sunlight although its cost
is a bit stiff ($170). Conversations with MacInnis reveal that they are about
(I messed around and found the original publisher of the study dealing with ambient astronomical lighting... he sent me
a copy of the old paper (now out of print)... He's on staff with the Naval Observatory)
Give me a call (919 774-6024) and I'll tell you or fax you a copy of the calculation
for your area/date/time of interest.... Good Luck! Ed Livesay
