I spoke with EDC yesterday (10-7-96) and found that HVE (2D) will hopefully be released by the beginning of the year. The 2D version is a Windows based software which utilizes EDCRASH EDSMAC etc. under a new user-interface. It will allegedly allow the importation of DXF map files and has built-in vehicle-spec databases. The prohibitive costs of the HVE3D system was out of the question in my case and our conversation did not include data regarding the Unix based system.
