Tire wear and skidding friction on snow

Has anyone data on the effect of tread wear on skidding
friction of car tires on tracked/compacted snow or packed
snow/ice? Effects on wet pavement are well known. Data
I have on ice is conflicting - 40% reduction on ice arena
tests in SAE 960959, and near zero effect quoted in
SAE 960657. However, the latter's authors would expect
a considerable difference in performance for used vs. new
tires on packed snow where the tread would interact with
the snow , but unfortunately present no data. Any help,
and any vaguely relevant sources of data, will be very
welcome.
