Just some thoughts:
1. I was not clear from your statement if the DLR was on the high beam filament for this car or if that was a general statement about DLR. Some DLR systems use a seperate bulb.
2. As discussed in this forum in the past - be very careful about a conclusion. Presence of deformation will indicate that the light was hot but lack of evidence does not mean the light was not on although I would expect deformation with 2 feet of crush - however, the high beam filament is much thicker and will not show characteristics as readily as a signal light (and maybe even less so with the lower voltage - less light-lower temperature of filament and I would then expect the steel to be less pliable - can someone comment on this?)
