IPTM has a book by Joseph Cofone, "The Investigation of Automobile Collisions
with Wooden Utility Poles and Trees.", this could probably be used to give
you a direction for speed estimates. I have used a LA city engineer to
provide a speed estimate to break a cement lamp standard, but I really think
he came in too high on the speed. But it is another option.
