I think we have ourselves a conundrum. The vital crash information files stored in the black box belong to the owner, and the only equipment/software that can access it belongs to the manufacturer. So unless we have some cooperation between the two, we all lose. There will certainly be some legal wrangling unless the issue is settled in advance.
