NHTSA lists a test weight for a '78 Zephyr 4 door, inline 6 engine, automatic trans, as 1484.608kg, or 3723.5 lbs. It's test #321. I don't, however have the particulars as to how much of that weight was test instrumentation or "crash test dummies". The 'Reference Library' portion of this site has articles about obtaining vehicle specs from NHTSA and Canadian Vehicle Specs, as well as a sister's and clones site. or try a Mercury Dealer...
be forewarned though - speed from damage shouldn't have an application with a severed vehicle.
