Bicycle vs. Car Area of Impact

I am currently investigating an accident which took place 2 years ago. The deputy determined the AOI by gouge marks left on the road by a bicycle that struck a car. The AOI reveals that the car was left of center in the roadway. The attorney who I am working for has asked me a "what if question".
What if the bike strikes the car and then bounces off the car at the point of impact and then leaves the gouge marks after bouncing back away from the car.
When its car vs car I know that the force is directed downward.
Is the same true for Car vs. Bicycle
low speed impact, no skid measured for the car
Thanks for your help
