Any collision analysis requires a detailed examination of the vehicle in question and what it struck or was struck by. GR is no exception. Chris Borelli referred to one type of GR, there are many variations, not only in the ribbon (structual length) but in the types of posts, their spacing and the soil. A 45angle imapct is still going to deflect a car and the resistance of the GR is extremely important. The GR could act like a rubber band a or like a concrete wall. The height of the GR installation relative to the bumper and c.g. height of the car is also important. Perhaps you could elaborate more on your case for us to be more specific. How do you know the angle was 45? Skid marks need to be examined for the vehicle attitude and that of the c.g. path as well which might change your analysis.
