Phil,

MathCad is a great tool, I use it a ton. Having said that, however, it's not the software to just start typing away to figure out. The manuals are very helpful and have some very practical examples for getting you started. Essentially, I find I pick a variable and define it with the colon key, a range is defined by the semi-colon key. A pop-up allows you to insert greek symbols and functions. Try some examples from the users manual.
