Nissan air bags (among others) often deploy at parking lot speeds...I have had cases involving the Altima, SX2000, and Sentra...serious injuries in collisions where even unrestrained occupants would not be hurt...typically repair costs of about $3000 where less than $1000 was body repair!!!
Only vehicles with higher thresholds appear to be Hondas, and BMW/Mercedes for restrained occupants...these unnecessary deployments have cost the US insurance industry $$Billions...why aren't they incensed???
