While I'm not usually a proponet on legislature solving all our problems I can
see how this could head into a mandaded "implied consent" type deal, where when
you register you car or get a drivers licnese you consent to having the
"black box" read when there is probable cause to do so. If that happened I could
see where automakers would be required to put such devices into vehicles.

I do agree that a long twisting judicial road would be ahead for a device
like this.
