Re: Front Seats Reclined Upon Impact During Rear-End Collision

I have investigated several mva where this has happened.
Last case is where a 1996 Dodge Ram rear ended a
small Honda sending same under a Tractor Trailor.
Fortunately both occupants of the Honda were
obese which resulted in their seats reclining prior to
going under the tractor trailer. Impact of the Ram
was approx. 38 - 40 mph.

I agree with Chuck, speed of the tractor trailor
would more likely than not be in the 60's.
The average drag factor in our city is between
.87 .92 (asphalt / concrete) dry and level surface.
