I have just completed an investigation where one of our motor officers was struck from behind while attempting a U-turn with emergency lights activated. The time of the crash was approximately 8 AM. The officer is 45 years old and has been riding for 12 years and certified to ride in the State of Florida. The calculated speed at impact was 38 MPH. Position of collision vehicles was 6 o' clock on the M/C and 12 o' clock on the vehicle. The M/C involved is a 1996 Harley Davidson Police Version. I hopes this helps and I look forward to seeing your completed survey. If I can be of further assistance or you would like a copy of the report feel free to contact me.
